Tiger Woods~US Open 2008

What can be said about Tiger Woods? The man is a machine. This past weekend was the US Open in ...... Tiger was on fire even though he has suffering from a painful knee injury. But watching his game it didn't seem to effect his type of play. On so many days of the tournament he would end it in Tiger style. Always exciting, and always when he needed it.
True to form, he came into Sunday in the hunt. And on the 18 hole he sunk a 12 putt to put the tournament into sudden death. Rocky .... and he played the sudden death round on Monday, and this was one to go the distance. After 18 the score was still even up. The way the rules are after the 18 hole sudden death is to play hole by hole until there is a winner. So on the first hole it seemed to be what was going to be a longer afternoon. But Rocky... was starting to show some cracks in his game, and ended the hole with a boogie. Tiger was able to complete the hole true to form, and par the hole. And once again, the Tiger Factor seemed to much for the competition. So this makes Tigers 14 major, 4 behind his hero Jack Nichols most major wins of 18. If Tiger can stay healthy, it will be exciting to watch history in the making. Tiger is a class act, it couldn't happen to a better guy. Go Tiger.

With the passing of time, I realize how fast time flies by. I cherish more and more each day the time we get to spend together.
Dad, love you.

Junior hits 600th home run

Ken Griffey has hit his 600th home run. This will make him a member of a very exclusive club of baseball legends. There are only five others who can make this claim. Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds. Congrats Jr., we salute you.

Tornadoes in the Tri State area, Campbell county hit

Wednesday June 4th, tornado warnings were issued for the Southeast Indiana,Southwest Ohio, and Northern Kentucky. Normally Southern Campbell misses any of the severe weather that hits Northern Kentucky;because of the location to the river.
But Wednesday night Grant's Lick and surrounding area was not spared. Damage of downed trees and power lines were more of an inconvience than loss of property. There were some barnes lost, but other that, nothing. The National Weather Assoc. confirmed that tornadoes had in fact formed, and touched down.
Southern Campbell Fire Department was dispatched around 1800hrs, and worked cleaning up and securing effected areas until about 2330.

From the picture you can see the extent of the damage. Here we are doing overhaul, the fire is out, but here is when the hard work is done.
